Live a Life Worthy of the Lord

“We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you too share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.”

~ Colossians 1:9-12

When I consider who I want to be as a woman of God it is easy to feel like it is impossible. And the truth is, without God, it is impossible. But all things are possible with God and we were not made to do life without God. Do I believe Him and take Him at His Word?

“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.”

~ 1 Peter 1:3-4 NLT

It is only as I pursue the Lord with all of my heart that He works within me to accomplish His divine purposes.

Lord, teach me to open my heart fully and completely to You. Give me grace to cooperate with the Holy Spirit as He continues the good work You have begun in my life and brings it to completion on the day of Christ. Open my eyes to see the beauty and wonder in the journey of my relationship with You and not get caught up and distracted in measuring and critiquing what I consider “progress”, but rest knowing that You are the Master Builder and You make all things beautiful in Your time.
